The Railway Junction
                        Answer of the questions.
1.     What is a Junction?
Ans: A place where two things join or meet, especially where two roads or railway routes come together and one terminates.
2.     Is there a tunnel along the track, which the author can see?
Ans: Yes, there is a tunnel along the track. The track of the tunnel is divided into two parts. One goes towards the darkening hills and another goes towards the distant sea.
3.     What does the poet mean (in stanza 4) by ‘But not their way’?


Ans: In the stanza we see that there are different types of people moving along the truck. They are: the bow begged groom, the person in black, the widow and her son, the sailor with his cage etc. But not their way means they all are not in the natural way of the world. They are going towards the end. 
4.     Are there any particular lines that tell us about the loneliness of the poet?

Ans: The 2nd line of the 5th stanza (All, who so mutely came, and went) tell us about the loneliness of the poet.

Ans: There are a lot of clues in the poem that tell us that the railway junction is not in a city.We come to know in the poem there are hills, fields, the bow begged groom, the person in black, the widow and her son, the sailor with his cage etc. All these describe that the railway junction is not in a city.
