Ans: Nina Bawden was one of the most important and engaging contemporary writers of fiction for young people. “Seeing in the mind "is one of her best creation. 2.How did the boy call the author's bluff? What does this mean? What did the boy try to show?
Ans: One of the Janey's brother was affected by infantile glaucoma. One of the two eyes he used one eye to see but the another he did not as it was a glass. One day when Nina was bathing her own child she also bathed the boy. Nina wanted to wash the glass eye as the boy's mother does. But she was secretary terrified and the boy knew it.At that time the uttered the word "author's bluff”. After saying that the boy took out the eye himself and chased the author who was secretly terrified about the glass eye.

3.How many children in the family had poor eyesight?

4.Why did the author and the girl walk round the loch?
Ans: Janey along with her brothers, the author and another children went to visit the loch area. Moreover there was a old cave and the cave was too steep. One day the children went to climb the cave. As the cave was too steep for Janey and the author, they were unable to climb the cave. So in the mean time they walked round the loch .
5.Was the film as good as the novel?
Ans: No, the film was not as good as the novel as the main characters of the novel were not presented perfectly. So the film as like making Hamlet without Hamlet.
6.Was the author involved in the production of the film?

Ans: No, the author was not involved in the production of the film. An American company was involved in the production of the film.
7.What was the "Lake Horse "?What was the author's theory about it? Do you agree with this theory, or do you have one of your own?
Ans : While the author and Janey were walking round the loch the locals said to them about the "Lake Horse" .Which was a great horse that was to be seen sometimes, galloping on the surface of the loch, a greedy creature of mist and terror that took souls to keep it company in the deep water. But Janey and the author did not believe it.The author's theory was that this was was just a theory to frighten the children and keep them away from the dangerous loch.

8.Why do you think the girl wanted a story written about a blind girl?
Ans: Janey along with her brothers, the author and another child went to visit the loch area. Moreover there was a old cave and the cave was too steep. One day the children went to climb the cave. As the cave was too steep for Janey and the author, they were unable to climb the cave. So in the mean time they walked round the loch.After walking round the lake the girl again wanted to climb but couldn't. Then the girl said," I wish you'd write a book about a blind girl, Nina." She also added the book will be on the story of the jewel thieves and the caves. And a girl who does something brave. Particularly Janey thought herself that the brave girl will be herself Janey.
