Answer the following questions.     

1. How Mrs. Singh surprised by the children? How do we know?
Ans: When the Reverend Singh was continued to dig and dig , suddenly his efforts reveled a pathetic sight as he saw four trembling creatures lay in a ball of fur and hair. Moreover the ball was made of two wolf cubs and two little girls. As Singh had never seen children like these before .Singh took the two girls to the orphanage. When Mrs. Singh saw the girls she could hardly believe her eyes as she watched the wolf children.
2. How did the two children move about?
Ans: After coming in the orphanage Mrs. Singh called them as Amala and Kamala. Living with the wolves the had the characteristics of wolves. Four week in the orphanage they ignored games and laughter of the children.Insted they preferred to crouch in the shade or stand motionless with their faces to the wall. Only at night they become active.

3. Why did the children drink milk by lapping it up with their tongue?
Ans: When the Reverend Singh found the girls with the wolves, he imagined that the girls are living with wolves about more than 3 years. In the mean time they learnt the characteristics of the wolves. As the wolves drink anything by lapping with their tongue, the children was also drank milk by lapping it up with their tongue.
4. In what ways did the children behave like animals?
Ans: Because of their living with the wolves the children learnt the characteristics of the wolves. When Mrs. Singh was playing with the children deliberately, she would not get the wolf the wolf-girls to behave like humans. Moreover in the orphanage when milk was given to them they drank milk by lapping it up with their tongue. Whenever people went near them they snarled and arched their backs, shaking their heads backwards and forwards. Thus the children behaved like animals.
5. What did the Sing’s decide to do and why?
Ans: When the Reverend Singh found the girls with the wolves, he imagined that the girls are living with wolves about more than 3 years. He took the girls to the orphanage. The Sings decided that the discovery of the children should be kept secret. Because if the people would know about them it would be harmful for them.
6. Why did the girls become active only at night?
Ans: The girls lived with the wolves from the very beginning of their birth. So they acquired the characteristics of the wolves. Four week in the orphanage they ignored games and laughter of the children.Insted they preferred to crouch in the shade or stand motionless with their faces to the wall. As the wolves become active at night the two girls become active at night.
7. Did Kamala miss her sister? How do we know?
Ans: Yes, Kamala missed her sister a lot. Amala the sister of Kamala died of kidney diseases on September 21st, 1921.For Kamala, the younger wolf-girl’s death was a terrible setback. She howled for many days and refused to eat. Thus we know that Kamala missed her sister.
8. How long did it take Kamala to learn about fifty words?
Ans: The two wolf girl Kamala and Amala came to the orphanage before September, 1921.After the death of Amala few years later kamala began to trust humans. Kamala understood most of the things that were said to her but she spoke very little herself. Even so she managed, by 1929, to learn about fifty words. That mean she took about a decade to to learn about fifty words
9. Why did Mrs. Singh have to leave the orphanage?
Ans: As her aunt was seriously ill Mrs. Singh had to leave the orphanage for several weeks.
10. What was the important thing that Kamala learned?

Ans: At one night when Mr. Singh sat in his study writing up his notes. As he finished writing he smiled to himself. Kamala had learned something more important than how to walk and talk. She had learned how to love a human human being.
