1. What is notebook?
Ans: A notebook is a portable personal computer suitable for use .it is a battery- or AC-powered personal computer generally smaller than a briefcase that can easily be transported and conveniently used in temporary spaces such as on airplanes, in libraries, temporary offices, and at meetings. Notebooks are commonly used in a variety of settings, including at work, in education, and for personal multimedia.
2. What is smartphone?
Ans: A smartphone is a mobile phone with an advanced mobile operating system. They typically combine the features of a cell phone with those of other popular mobile devices, such as personal digital assistant (PDA), media player and GPS navigation unit. Most smartphones have a touchscreen user interface and can run third-party apps, and are camera phones.
3. What is G.P.S?
Ans: The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a space-based satellite navigation system that provides location and time information in all weather conditions, anywhere on or near the earth where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites. The system provides critical capabilities to military, civil, and commercial users around the world.
4. What is the importance of G.P.S?
Ans: GPS means global positioning system. GPS technology now widely used for various purposes, not only as a guide map on an airplane or ship alone but also has spread everywhere. Utilizing a GPS system we can get accurate directions for travel. Weather we are travelling locally, across country, or globally, you will get accurate direction and constant monitoring of your current position. GPS is very helpful and important in the sport of hiking.
5. What is paperless office?
Ans: A paperless office is a work environment in which the use of paper is eliminated or greatly reduced. This is done by converting documents and other papers into digital form. Proponents claim that "going paperless" can save money, boost productivity, save space, make documentation and information sharing easier, keep personal information more secure, and help the environment. The concept can be extended to communications outside the office as well.
6. When the concept of paperless officing is initiated?
Ans: The concept of paperless officing is initiated in 1978.
7. What is EVM?
Ans: EVM means ‘electronic voting machine’.
8. What is call center?
Ans: A call center or call center is a centralized office used for receiving or transmitting a large volume of requests by telephone. An inbound call center is operated by a company to administer incoming product support or information inquiries from consumers. Outbound call centers are operated for telemarketing, solicitation of charitable or political donations, debt collection and market research.
9. How call center works?
Ans: A call center has an open workspace for call center agents, with work stations that include a computer for each agent, a telephone set/headset connected to a telecom switch, and one or more supervisor stations. It can be independently operated or networked with additional centers, often linked to a corporate computer network, including mainframes, microcomputers and LANs. Increasingly, the voice and data pathways into the center are linked through a set of new technologies called computer telephony integration. The majority of large companies use contact centers as a means of managing their customer interaction. These centers can be operated by either an in house department responsible or outsourcing customer interaction to a third party agency.
10. What is e-class room?
Ans: The narrow view of the electronic classroom is that it is a room with computers and multimedia displays. The broader view is that it is an electronic environment that supports the many processes of classroom education. Just like in a real-world classroom, a student in a virtual classroom participates in synchronous instruction, which means that the teacher and students are logged into the virtual learning environment at the same time.
11. Write the role of ICT in social relationship development?
Ans: New technology and social media sites are constantly changing, evolving and developing, which means the face of personal communication is also changing. These changes often mean people are having less and less face-to-face interaction. Email, texting, Facebook and Twitter are just a few examples of mediums that have diminished verbal communication. Verbal communication has decreased dramatically from just 20 years ago, when most of the technology used today did not even exist. Sending messages through social media sites, such as Facebook, is also taking the place of verbal communication. More than four billion messages are sent daily over Facebook. This is developing the social relationship among the people of the globe.
12. What is you tube?
Ans: YouTube is a video-sharing website headquartered in San Bruno, California. Unregistered users can watch videos, and registered users can upload videos to their channels. Videos considered to contain potentially offensive content are available only to registered users affirming themselves to be at least 18 years old.
13. What is Flicker?
Ans: Flickr is an image hosting and video hosting website, and web services suite. being a popular website for users to share and embed personal photographs, and effectively an online community, the service is widely used by photo researchers and by bloggers to host images that they embed in blogs and social media.
14. What is Picasa?
Ans: Picasa is an image organizer and image viewer for organizing and editing digital photos, plus an integrated photo-sharing website. "Picasa" is a blend of the name of Spanish painter Pablo Picasso,
15. What is E- card?
Ans: An E-card is similar to a postcard or greeting card, with the primary difference being that it is created using digital media instead of paper or other traditional materials. E-cards are made available by publishers usually on various Internet sites, where they can be sent to a recipient, usually via e-mail.
16. What is Facebook?
Ans: Facebook is an online social networking service headquartered in Menlo Park, California. Its website was launched on February 4, 2004, by Mark Zuckerberg with his college roommates and fellow Harvard University students.
