Ans: Mr. Kumar called the class together because he had an importance announce to make.

Ans: The children thought different news  that their teacher Mr. Kumar was going to give them.Dilip whispered, ‘He’s going to scold us.’Pratap said, ‘ I doubt it.’ Manju suggested , ‘I think it’s good news, rather than bad.’

3. What kind of look did Mr. Kumar give Pratap?

Ans: When Mr. Kumar was talking in the class, Pratap shouted, “Great!”. Then,Mr. Kumar started at Pratap with a look that could kill.

4. Who came to see the Variety Entertainment?

Ans: Pupils from other classes, members of staff, parents and guests came to see the Variety Entertainment.

5. What did Pratap announce to the audience?

Ans: Pratap announced  to the audience, “ Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Tonight I am going to perform a vanishing trick. I am not going to make a coin disappear. I am not going to make an egg disappear. No , I am going to make my dog Smokey , disappear!”

6. Why did Smokey leap out of Pratap’s arms?

Ans: At the time of the magic show Pratap put  his dog Smokey on his arms and placed the sheet over the dog and held the bundle tightly. As it was not favourable to the dog to stay on the Pratap’s arm, the  Smokey leaped out of Pratap’s arms.

7. What comments were made by members of the audience during Pratap’s act?

Ans: When Pratap was unable to manage the dog, the audience roared with laughter. One of the boys of class 6 shouted, “ Some magic trick”. Another

cried , “ Why don’t you disappear?” and the audience giggled.

8. What did they think of his trick in the end?

Ans:In the end , the audience amazed with Pratap’s trick. ‘Amazing !Well done! Shabhash! ‘ cried the audience and applauded loudly as the curtain  came down.
